Compensation Philosophy
Our compensation philosophy is designed to reflect our values and enable high performance.
Our policies should focus on the following:
- We take care of the needs of our employees. No one should need to pull focus away from our bottleneck to progress because they aren’t paid enough.
- We pay well enough that people aren’t looking elsewhere because of compensation. This way, we can seek to understand whether we are creating the right environment for the right people.
- Total compensation is calculated to ensure fairness and market alignment.
Philosophy in Practice
- Convictional has an $80k minimum salary policy. This minimum is subject to change, in either direction, as we grow and create new roles.
- All employees are compensated at the 75th percentile. We leverage Pave and Carta to benchmark this comprehensively.
- 100% of benefits are covered at base.
- We revisit compensation at least yearly to make market adjustments as appropriate.
- When we make compensation adjustments based on merit rather than market or role changes, we typically use stock refreshes.
- We create a flexible work environment that enables learning and career development.
- We provide 4 weeks paid time off, plus a 1-week shutdown at the end of the year, and promote sustainable work practices.
